Hello everyone🤎, This is group C; we have created this blog for our computer and language course (supervised by Dr. Faizah Alanazi). Our course concentrates on the relationship between languages and computers. The main purpose of making this blog is to help students learn a new language and perhaps explore fun and practical language acquisition. Closed captions have always been very helpful to deaf people, but today we have a new outlook on them because they help us effectively learn reading and spelling. Youtube is one of the best platforms for language learning; we wanted to show you all the different ways it is helpful.
It was very lovely working on this blog as this idea is relatable to us the most. We use YouTube almost every day of our lives! It's a beneficial software that everyone can learn from. Thank you💕
Hello Group C, this is group B. We absolutely agree with your point of view that language learners can learn from YouTube. However, every application and programme has its own pros and cons. Therefore, while youtube can be used as an additional learning material, the learner or the teacher should choose carefully the most appropriate content that it is suitable for the course. In fact, Youtube has a huge and diverse amount of content which is great, because learners can find videos that suit their interests and needs, but it can also cause the learner confusion and many other problems. The subtitles or captitions can sometimes be unreliable. Nevertheless, Youtube is an effective application that can help learners learn languages.
ReplyDeleteHello Group C, this is Group A. We enjoyed reading your blog and we agree that YouTube is one of the best language learning platforms. But we have some comments on certain points. First, Some channels put annoying subtitles like font shape or word colour, this way it will be difficult for language learners to read and spell words.Second, YouTube has tons of educational channels therefore it's hard for language learners to find the suitable and reliable resource for their educational journey. Finally, Although YouTube has proven its effectiveness in teaching the language, it is considered an incomplete learning process because the learner does not receive feedback or anyone who answers it if he does not understand a specific point. It also does not develop in terms of skills that require give and take, such as speaking.
ReplyDeleteHello group C this is group F :)
ReplyDeleteWe really appreciated the way you talked about the YouTube particularly in details, it’s a pretty broad platform with varied interests. We personally love to watch vlogs specifically it’s so much fun, like you truly communicate with a foreign person. However, one thing we've noticed with YouTube is that it sometimes suggests videos that have nothing to do with the basic purpose of learning the language. The most important point that we agreed with is that YouTube is beneficial to children. YouTube Kids is a specific app for them. It features songs, vlogs, and video games, and the censorship is good. In any case, we don't believe that YouTube helps with all the skills of language learning, but it is a good approach to learn. Thank you very much for your hard work, please continue to do so! 🥰
Hello group C 💕
ReplyDeleteWe are group D , First we have enjoyed reading this amazing blog ,and we liked the presentation, colours.
Second, we agree about YouTube education. But we don’t think that watching video games is the best option for learning English for kids.because not all video contents are clean or suitable for learning.
Hello group C. This is group J. Good work on your blog, the information were clear and helpful. We think that Vlogs are a great point you have mentioned because it helps us learn and at the same time it is fun to watch. and we most certainly agree that YouTube has so many channels for teaching students and kids. However, the adds in YouTube kills the joy and nowadays it becomes very annoying. In addition that not all channels put a subtitles therefore it becomes harder to understand the language and learn from it.

ReplyDeleteSpeaking from group ‘H’ we really appreciate your effort and great work and we also believe that YouTube is one of the reasons in learning any new language, it helps with gaining skills such as listening and speaking however, YouTube sometimes could be for people who have already learned the language and became fluent so in order to practice the language YouTube is one of the tools that help those who wants to practice the language.
Hello we as a group ( I ) would like to thank you for your hard work and your credibility in writing about language learning, especially on YouTube. We also liked your choice of blog colors that seem comfortable to the eye hehe.
ReplyDeleteWe agree with your choice of YouTube as a good example for language learning. YouTube is one of the best applications to learn language audio or video
